On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the All-China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President of the People’s Republic of China, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, issued important instructions and extended warm greetings to the vast number of cadres and workers in the national supply and marketing cooperative system. He also extended hearty congratulations to the advanced collectives and individuals who have been commended.

Xi Jinping pointed out that over the past 70 years, supply and marketing cooperatives have consistently focused on the Party’s central tasks, proactively serving the overall situation, and playing a positive role in serving urban and rural residents, boosting the rural economy, supporting poverty alleviation efforts, helping farmers increase their incomes, and promoting rural revitalization.

Xi Jinping emphasized that in the new era and on the new journey ahead, Party committees and governments at all levels should further strengthen their leadership and support for the work of supply-and-marketing cooperatives, making full use of this powerful force. Supply-and-marketing cooperatives must earnestly implement the new development philosophy, take deep root in rural areas and agriculture, focus on their core responsibilities and main business, deepen comprehensive reforms, enhance institutional innovation, and continuously build integrated platforms that serve farmers’ production and livelihoods and promote the development of modern agriculture. They should act as a vital bridge and link between the Party and the government and the farming community, strive to write a new chapter of high-quality development for the supply-and-marketing cooperative cause, and make greater contributions to advancing the comprehensive revitalization of rural areas and accelerating the building of a strong agricultural nation.

Li Qiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Premier of the State Council, issued instructions pointing out that supply-and-marketing cooperatives must thoroughly implement the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping and the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee.
