Magnesium nitrate
Properties: Magnesium nitrate hexahydrate is a colorless monoclinic crystal, which is easily soluble in water, liquid ammonia, methanol and ethanol.It is stable at room temperature and has a relative density of 1.461. It is dehydrated to generate basic magnesium nitrate at 95°C above the melting point. When heated to 300°C, it begins to decompose, and when it reaches above 400°C, it is completely decomposed into magnesium oxide and nitrogen oxide gas.
Uses: Industrially used as a dehydrating agent for concentrated nitric acid, for the manufacture of explosives, catalysts and other magnesium salt and nitrate raw materials, wheat ashing agents, etc.It is used in agriculture as a fertilizer for soilless cultivation of soluble nitrogen and magnesium fertilizer.
