Since 2019 Since [year], the Nitro-Calcium-Magnesium Fertilizer Branch of the China Nitrogen Fertilizer Industry Association has been collaborating with the Science and Technology Small Courtyard of Henan Agricultural University. The collaboration primarily focuses on conducting trial demonstrations of nitro-calcium-magnesium fertilizers for economic crops, aiming to understand the application effects and mechanisms of calcium-magnesium fertilizers on different crops, promote and popularize the application technologies and field performance of nitro-calcium-magnesium fertilizers, guide farmers in the proper use of these products, tap into the full potential of nitro-calcium-magnesium fertilizers, and further enhance their social recognition.

Calcium-Magnesium Fertilizer Association, Niu Tianliang Li Fan, Wang Yang from the Science and Technology Courtyard of Henan Agricultural University Li Qun, Shanxi Jinlan Chemical, Shanxi Huaxin Fertilizer Industry, and the Science and Technology Small Courtyard Total 10 Participants engaged in a discussion focusing on the current status and development of calcium-magnesium fertilizers, as well as the next steps—conducting trials and demonstrations of calcium-magnesium fertilizers on crops such as peppers and peanuts, based on the nutrient requirements of these crops. The goal is to determine the appropriate application rates and methods for ammonium nitrate calcium and calcium magnesium nitrate fertilizers, thereby providing a scientific basis for the wider promotion of these fertilizers.

Every year 5 Mid-month marks the garlic harvest season in Qixian County, Kaifeng City. The Calcium-Magnesium Fertilizer Association, together with the Henan Agricultural University Science and Technology Courtyard, jointly witnessed a comparative field trial of topdressing applications using three types of fertilizers: urea, ammonium nitrate calcium, and calcium magnesium nitrate. Below is an overview of the results from this trial.

Test location: Qixian County, Kaifeng

  1. Demonstration Field: Qixian County 3 Each, each processing 1.5~2 mu;
  2. Demonstration topdressing treatments: urea, ammonium nitrate calcium, calcium magnesium nitrate
  3. Testing indicators: Yield measurement at maturity and garlic appearance quality.

Experiments have shown that calcium ammonium nitrate, as an alkaline fertilizer rich in both nitrate nitrogen and calcium, is particularly well-suited for application in acidic soils. It can neutralize soil acidity and improve the soil’s aggregate structure. Moreover, garlic, being a shallow-rooted crop, is prone to premature root decline if high-nitrogen fertilizers—especially those containing higher levels of ammonium nitrogen—are applied later in the growing season. Therefore, applying calcium ammonium nitrate later in the growth cycle better meets garlic’s specific nutritional requirements. In Qixian County, garlic fields generally suffer from magnesium deficiency, and garlic itself has relatively high magnesium requirements. As one of the key components of chlorophyll in plants, magnesium is closely linked to photosynthesis.

The results of this trial indicate that the application of calcium-magnesium fertilizer effectively delays premature senescence of garlic leaves, promotes the translocation of nutrients from the aboveground parts to the bulb, and thereby enhances bulb enlargement and weight gain. Thus, applying nitrate-based calcium-magnesium fertilizer not only improves soil quality but also provides crops with sufficient nutrients, helping to enhance yield and efficiency.

After the observation and yield measurement were completed, Calcium-magnesium fertilizer The branch office is heading to Xinxiang County, Henan Province. , Henan Xin Lian Xin Chemical Group Co., Ltd. and the other party engaged in an in-depth discussion on the current market situation of nitro-based compound fertilizers. Mr. Niu Tianliang, consultant of the Nitro Calcium-Magnesium Fertilizer Branch, pointed out that nitro-based compound fertilizers are now more popular among farmers than urea-based compound fertilizers. Experimental comparison results from the Henan Agricultural University’s Science and Technology Courtyard also indicate that nitro-based compound fertilizers deliver more pronounced effects. Therefore, Mr. Niu recommended that Xin Lian Xin further develop nitro-based compound fertilizers.

2019 Year 7 Moon 20 Day, Xin Lian Xin Chemical Industry Group With China Agricultural University And Henan Agricultural University , Jointly established located at Yangjie Science and Technology Courtyard, Yangjie Village, Langgongmiao Town, Xinxiang County 。 By sending university students to the front lines of production, we can consolidate theoretical learning, enhance practical skills, conduct scientific research, and foster close integration among industry, academia, and research. At the same time, through product validation and improvement, product demonstrations, technical support, industrial integration, and full-chain services, we can promote regional industrial convergence, helping Xin Lian Xin Greenhouses improve quality and efficiency and achieve industrial upgrading.
