The 2020 China Phosphate and Compound Fertilizer Industry Association Exhibition and the 21st Domestic High-Concentration Phosphate and Compound Fertilizer Production and Sales Fair, themed “Cultivating New Opportunities Amidst Crises and Opening New Horizons in a Changing Landscape,” was co-hosted by the China Phosphate and Compound Fertilizer Industry Association and the Agricultural Production Materials Circulation Association. A total of over 240 companies participated in the event, attracting more than 20,000 visitors to the exhibition booths.

Xinhua Finance, Taiyuan, December 17 (Dong Huixin) — Recently, the 2020 China Phosphate and Compound Fertilizer Industry Association Exhibition and the 21st Domestic High-Concentration Phosphate and Compound Fertilizer Production and Sales Conference were held in Qingdao, Shandong Province. Several Shanxi Jiaocheng nitrocalcium-magnesium fertilizer enterprises, members of the Nitrocalcium-Magnesium Fertilizer Branch of the China Nitrogen Fertilizer Industry Association, participated in the event.

Jiaocheng is currently one of the country’s major centers for the production of nitrocalcium-magnesium fertilizers. Its capacity alone for calcium nitrate, magnesium nitrate, and calcium ammonium nitrate fertilizers has reached over 2 million tons, while its capacity for dilute nitric acid (including projects under construction) exceeds 1.6 million tons, thus forming a unique industrial chain dedicated to nitro-based products. Currently, Jiaocheng’s output of nitro fertilizers is growing at a rate of 30% annually. More than 70% of domestically produced calcium nitrate and calcium ammonium nitrate fertilizers are exported, accounting for over 50% of the global market. The Nitro Calcium-Magnesium Fertilizer Branch of the China Nitrogen Fertilizer Industry Association was established on September 11, 2019, and several nitro fertilizer enterprises from Jiaocheng have become member units.

At this exhibition, member companies of the sub-association, along with more than 20 other nitro calcium-magnesium fertilizer enterprises, showcased their products. The water-soluble nitro fertilizers on display—including nitro compound fertilizers, ammonium nitrate calcium, and calcium nitrate—sparked widespread attention and lively discussion among customers and visitors, playing a positive role in promoting the future use and development of nitro calcium-magnesium fertilizers.

It is understood that this year, ammonium nitrate-calcium and calcium-magnesium nitrate fertilizers provided by Sanxi Chemical Co., Ltd. of Jiaocheng County have been applied in apple and peanut trials in Henan Province. The data indicate that the application of these nitrate-based calcium-magnesium fertilizers has effectively boosted both the yield and quality of apples. Moreover, ammonium nitrate-calcium not only significantly increased peanut yields but also substantially reduced the incidence of peanut fruit rot. In 2021, the sub-association will continue conducting trials on the use of calcium-magnesium fertilizers in wheat, corn, chili peppers, garlic, and other crops at the Science and Technology Courtyard of Henan Agricultural University. Through these field trials, the sub-association will continually guide farmers toward scientific and rational fertilizer application practices.
